My expedition to Carstensz Pyramid on November 2007 was about to end even before it could start. It was only thanks to the expertise and local knowledge of Ferdinand and his dedicated team of professionals that I could reach the elusive peak and become the first Ecuadorian to stand on top of the highest summit in Oceania.
